Porcelain Crown

Larry has been a patient for a few years, but he did not understand how worn his teeth were until they started chipping and feeling sharp.  Larry’s main concern was to save his teeth.

As you can see the left stone model shows that the enamel has worn away and the teeth are very thin.  In addition, the 2 front teeth are very twisted and Larry is primarily interested in saving the teeth.  As can be seen on the right side of the photo a wax-up has been completed.  A duplicate model was adjusted and wax was added to simulate an ideal result functionally ( Larry’s chief concern).

Stone Model Of Upper Arch On Left And Wax-Up On Right.

Esthetically (an added bonus for Larry). Larry’s before portrait (below) shows darkened teeth but the palatal erosion, wear, and sensitive areas could only be felt by his tongue.

I usually don’t show the laboratory work but without an excellent technician, the extra planning of the wax-up cannot be realized.  As can be seen, the final restorations mimic the wax-up.
